OMAA offers a unique combination of training options to a wide range of students, from beginners to professional fighters. In addition to our high quality facilities/equipment, we have highly experienced and dedicated instructors who will work with you in group classes and/or private lessons for a well-rounded regime in your chosen martial art.

No, you can buy one-off sessions.

Our class sizes are carefully regulated. If it is required we launch a second class or hire an assistant instructor to ensure you get all the attention you require to develop successfully

Martial Arts are very demanding sports. Depending on your fitness level, you will just start slowly at your own pace and gradually your fitness will improve. We do not expect you to necessarily show up fit, but we guarantee you will get fit!

There is a lot different exercises that you can do on your own and it all depends on what areas you want to improve in: stamina, power, speed, flexibility? Maybe you want to improve a bit all-round? A good place to start is by doing regular jogging. The best time for this is first thing in the morning just after waking up. At the beginning do 30 mins 3-4 times a week and after 2 weeks of that regime take it up to 1 hour which will be around 8-12 miles. Just remember before and after your...

The more classes you take the faster you will progress. Three classes a week would be good. If it's not convenient to take more then one lesson a week (you will still make progress) in which case you should supplement you training by exercising on your own.

When it comes to martial arts, we are all students and there is always something to learn and room for improvement. It highly depends on which one is your chosen martial art: the highly technical BJJ or the easier to learn Muay Thai.

As long as you are dedicated to willing to train hard we will help you with your fight.

Muay thai is different martial arts to kickboxing. It utilises a different fighting position, and includes certain moves not allowed in kickboxing such as elbows, knees and low kicks. Muay Thai also involves a clinch, which is not in kickboxing.

All the martial arts are effective means of self-defense. However, there are fundamental differences amongst martial arts. For example, Muay Thai and Boxing are stand up fighting forms, while BJJ is highly technical groundwork. For further details on various martial arts please visit our Martial Arts section.

Yes, we do offer private training that will maximise your development and you have the exclusive attention of the instructor. Please, contact a member of staff at OMAA to book sessions with one of our instructors.

Yes, we have many women members. In fact, after gaining confidence, some of them are saying that they would want to practice their skills in the ring. We are also running classes specifically dedicated for women.

We have scheduled class to coincide with most people's work hours, but of course everyone's schedule is different. If you cannot make any of the scheduled classes maybe you should consider private lessons at a time that's convenient to you. Alternatively, let a member of staff know about the issue and a new class might be launched (depending on demand).

Martial arts are contact sport so injuries might happen but there are fewer than you might imagine, and we and our qualified instructors will do our best to prevent injuries. Each class begins with a long warm-up that helps prevent injuries and of course we take all measures to instruct students on safe methods in classes and provide protective equipment.

All our instructors are qualified and have professional indemnity. We are actively seeking and choose outstanding instructors with considerable national and international achievements. Our classes are specifically designed to ensure your successful development that will definitely get you fit and make you lose weight; and at the same time you will learn how to defend yourself.

There are opportunities to compete at all levels from novice to world class, however it's NOT essential to your training.

The classes are very friendly and you will quickly settle in so don't be shy. The classes are classified into different levels, beginners, general, and intermediate or advanced so you will work at a level to suit you. You don't need to rely on friends turning up; we can find you a partner to train with.

We will provide you with all the necessary equipment for your trial session. Afterwards, you will be able to buy all your clothing from the OMAA shop.
